About Us
Steve (kinoini)
My name is Steve, though my online name is kinoini. Where I came up with Kinoini...well, its my name in Hawaiian. Why? I went to Hawaii once, loved the place, used the name the first time I signed up for an internet account, and well, its stuck. And, I like it.
I was born, raised and still live on (or is that in?) Long Island, NY. This used to be a great place to live, but lately its getting way too crowded. I went to Long Island University, earned a Bachelors Degree in Accounting, and later acquired my CPA license. After a few slight career changes I find myself working for myself. I love to read, write, and create...anything really. I'm old enough to know better, young enough to still try. I'd like to think I'm not shy (and sometimes I'm not), and I love to live life to its fullest! Oh, and I'm a smart-ass, but I suppose that's better than a dumb ass. Maybe I'm just an ass. My son graduated from university a few years back, and he's now got a job building lasers. I'm not kidding. We hang out together pretty often and that goes something like: "What's goin' on? Nothing...how about you? Nothing." Like that. I love him and I'm so proud of him!!
....A long time ago, I created a character, kinoini, in an ongoing interactive story that existed only in the minds of its tellers. Somehow, I became him, or he me. Or maybe, I was always him. I will, one day, re-tell the tale of kinoini. One day.
Bev (q6newslady)
Bev was born in Libya, (really she was), and spent quite a few years of her childhood in Spain. She speaks fluent Spanish. She denies it, but I've heard her speak it. Bev came back to the States as a young girl, and has lived pretty much everywhere people live on earth. She started a career in television news in Bakersfield, CA, and had only a brief break in that career when she worked for Merrill Lynch, in Albuquerque, NM for a few years. She finally settled in Spokane, WA, and was an anchor for KHQ - Q6 News, the NBC affiliate there. Hence, the name q6newslady.
Bev took a job working for Prudential Securities here in NY for a little over a year. She just didn't feel challenged enough by it. So she started working as an executive assistant and public relations person for a published author and real estate developer, Don Axinn. In fact, one of his books was made into the independant film, Spin. Bev worked extensively behind the scenes during the making of that film, and her name is in the credits. That was a fun, and interesting experience. It was probably more fun for me than for Bev...she was working, I was watching a movie "grow-up" right before my eyes. We used to get the "dailies" and try to figure out how they would cut the final film. Cool stuff. We got to go to a few openings, and meet a few stars.
Unfortunately, Bev's boss passed away, and she lost that job. She bounced back quickly, and took a job here on the Island as an executive assistant for RXR Realty, a major real estate development corporation. It's most challenging, and she enjoys it alot...though she does have to travel into NYC a day or two a week.
But that's her work history. That's what she does, not who she is. Bev is the love of my life, and the person whom I have the honor of calling my wife. I met Bev at a time in my life when I believed I'd never find love. It was kind of a crazy time, and I was kind of a wild guy. I had resigned myself to live alone. But then I met Bev, and all that changed. She is an amazing person, who, doesn't give herself credit for the depth, strength and beauty of her character and soul. She doesn't see it, but I do. And its why I love her. She quieted my soul. She has stood by me through times so difficult and dark that they cannot be described. She amazes me. I love her.
